Dr. Brett Homme
Brett Homme grew up in Papillion, NE, a suburb just south of Omaha, NE. After his family got their family dog (a black lab) when he was about five years old, Brett always knew that he wanted to be a veterinarian for dogs and cats when he grew up. In high school and college, he worked/volunteered in many different animal-based fields, including a small animal veterinary clinic in Papillion, the Omaha Henry Doorly Zoo and Aquarium, Fontenelle Forest Wildlife Center in Bellevue, NE, and the Veterinary Health Center in Manhattan, KS. He received his Bachelor's degree in Animal Science from Kansas State University in 2018, and his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree through the Professional Program in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln/Iowa State University in 2022.
Brett always wanted to live in a place with more trees and scenic views than Nebraska, so he decided to move out to Colorado to pursue his veterinary career as well as performing more hiking, skiing, and everything else outdoorsy that Colorado has to offer. Besides the outdoors activities, he also likes to read, work out, and play board/video games with his family in his free time. He doesn't currently have any pets, but he is planning on getting a dog later in the year once he has settled into his new Colorado life.
